Frames.....AAAGGGHHHHHHH

Why are frames so difficult to choose? wood, metal, plastic, with a raised edge, without a raised edge, patterned, fret worked, coloured, stained, embellished, gold plated, ruby encrusted, covered in chocolate!!! As if the choice wasn't enough you have to ask the question...one that suits what is in it or that suits the room/area it is going in.....agghhh! 

Does it look crazy to have lots of different frames or crazy to have a lot the same?
